As a minority-owned company, we understand firsthand that low-income communities normally do not have the same access to drowning prevention as some other communities. While drowning education and prevention are vital, teaching these communities is especially close to our hearts. We promote and practice safety in and around the water and teach the kids to love but respect the water.

Part of Manta Swim Academy’s core value is to promote a safe and healthy pool environment for our students. Our goal is to educate the community on drowning and drowning prevention, something that a lot of low-income and underprivileged communities are not knowledgeable about. Lack of knowledge is often the biggest problem. By offering our service and education, we are working hard to curve the unawareness in the lower-income communities. Per the CDC, drowning deaths are the second leading cause of unintentional injury deaths for children aged 0-17. Not only do they not swim but generations have not been provided with the knowledge or access to lessons and therefore do not have the ability to save their own life or the lives of their child if a water incident were to occur. The statistics are staggering for the low-income community and our desire is to change these statistics in our community with your help, we can do it. We provide lessons to underprivileged and foster children that wouldn’t be able to take lessons without your help.

How Can You Help?

You can buy a gift certificate and we will utilize each certificate purchased to provide a lesson to a child in need.  If you know of a specific child in need and would like to donate to that child specifically.
